UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 240
Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Education held on January 18, 2010 at the Unified District Office. Those present were Board Members Phil Aumick, Bernie Regnier, Rick Bremerman, Kelli Webb, John Adam and Matt Ehrhart; Administrators Richard D. Harlan, Craig Gantenbein and Becky Cheney; and Clerk Cindy Regnier.
Vice President Kelli Webb called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
The agenda for the meeting was adopted. Motion by Matt Ehrhart, seconded by Rick Bremerman. Carried with 6-0 vote.
Mark Whitesell arrived at 7:13pm.
The consent agenda (December 21, 2009 minutes and checks 45324 through 45452 in the amount of $329,805.50) for the meeting was approved. Motion by Phil Aumick, Seconded by Bernie Regnier. Carried with 7-0 vote.
Motion by Rick Bremerman to change the board meeting date from February 15, 2010 to February 22, 2010. Seconded by Matt Ehrhart. Carried 7-0.
Motion by Bernie Regnier to approve the use of contingency funds for short term monthly usage when state payments are not received in a timely manner. Seconded by Matt Ehrhart. Carried 7-0.
Motion by Rick Bremerman to enter into a two-year district cooperative agreement between Bennington Schools and Tescott Schools for junior high football. Seconded by Phil Aumick. Carried 7-0.
Motion by Matt Ehrhart to deny attendance to two out-of-district students at Bennington Grade School. Seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried 7-0.
Motion by Matt Ehrhart that the board go into executive session for 30 minutes to discuss personnel. Seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried 7-0. The board went into executive session at 8:30 pm.
The Board reconvened at 9:00 p.m.
Motion by Mark Whitesell to accept the resignations of Barbara Webb as Bennington Schools Head Cook and Trudy Berthelson as Tescott High School English instructor. Seconded by Rick Bremerman. Carried 7-0.
Motion by Rick Bremerman to appoint board members Matt Ehrhart, Kelli Webb and Phil Aumick to serve as the board of education negotiations team. Seconded by John Adam. Carried 7-0.
Motion by Bernie Regnier to accept the superintendent’s evaluation. Seconded by John Adam. Carried 7-0.
Motion by Kelli Webb for the Board of Education to direct the superintendent of schools to develop a plan to allow current staff to absorb the open positions of English Instructor and Business Instructor at Tescott High School. Seconded by Rick Bremerman. Carried 7-0.
President Mark Whitesell adjourned the meeting.
