HOA LEADERSHIP SUMMIT!

On Tuesday, Oct. 15, eight students from Bennington High School attended this year’s first HOA Leadership Summit. The summit is designed to offer students the opportunity to not only represent their school, but to also develop leadership skills to bring back to their campus and put them into action.

Avery Feil, student support services and sponsor, serves as the group’s sponsor. “Our students did a phenomenal job at asking thoughtful questions and providing meaningful answers. In doing so, they earned HOA Bucks, and came away with the most after the initial count.”

The summit featured Sports in Kansas founder Chet Kuplen and KSHSAA’s executive director Bill Faflick. Kuplen spoke about the importance of being mindful of the digital footprint student-athletes are leaving behind on social media through their posts and electronic communications.

Faflick shared the difference between Sportsmanship vs. Behavior/Attitude, as well as showing respect to other players, teams, coaches, fans, sports equipment, and even officials.

Those attending the event were sponsor Ms. Feil, Abby , Addyson, Derick, Mckenzie, Cade, Zeni , Karson and Madileya.
