Teacher Spotlight:  Jim Gish

Mr. Gish graduated from SouthEast of Saline High School. 

While he was there, he participated in football and track. 

He earned his teaching degree at Fort Hays State University. 

Mr. Gish has been in teaching for 31 years. 

He decided to go into education when he was a sophomore in college. 

He has been at Bennington since 1994. 

He teaches history, world geography, and current events. 

Mr. Gish enjoys teaching American history the most, because he loves the history of our country. 

What Mr. Gish loves most about Bennington is the students. 

Outside of school, Mr. Gish enjoys camping and kayaking. 

His favorite movie is “Bad Boys”, because it’s funny. 

He has a dog named Skipper, he is a boxer. 

If Mr. Gish was unable to become a teacher, he would be working at a sporting goods store, because he loves the outside. 

He says his best talent is how he relates to people. 

What do you want people to know about you that they may not know? “I Love music of all kinds, and I am a DJ on the side when I’m not teaching.”
